I have a PhD in Critical Psychology (CUNY Graduate Center), which is a field that examines how social, political, and economic structures — including the legal system — shape human experience and wellbeing, often in ways that go unquestioned. My work explores how the legal system causes harm across generations, the limits/contradictions/possibilities of reform efforts, and how individuals and communities build alternative approaches to care and safety outside of carceral logics. I have worked across a range of initiatives — from grassroots organizing collectives and nonprofit organizations to government agencies — bridging research and activism in campaigns for carceral reform and abolition. Through this work, I am committed to making research a collaborative, accountable practice built with those most impacted.
